Main Street CEC, founded in 2005, is a daycare (starting at six weeks) and preschool through fifth grade school.  Situated in the city of Alexandria, our school's vision is to be the preferred regional choice for those desiring a sequential and grammatical approach to education from a God-centered, Biblical perspective.  The CEC exists as a partnership between the educators and families.  The mission of the partnership is to guide each student to mastery of core educational skills.

The staff and parents at Main Street CEC have high expectations for the students attending.  By working together, parents and educators are able to help and support each student in order to help them become more successful.  Something that is highly valued at the CEC is our communication with parents.  The teachers and staff at the CEC make sure that the lines of communication are always open between parents and educators.

The teachers prepare each day to ensure that the children at the CEC learn using exciting and engaging lessons in the areas of reading, Bible, mathematics, social studies, science, writing and spelling.  Latin is an opportunity given to the third through fifth grade students, and piano lessons are available for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Art, music and physical education are also taught by the teachers to make our school well rounded.

Accredited by SACS CASI and a member of ACSI, Main Street has been consistently scoring high on the SATS.  Students begin testing in the first grade, and continue to test each year through fifth grade.  In 2010, over half of the student body scored in the top 20% of students nationwide in at least one testing category.  14 of 23 students scored in the top 5% of students nationwide in at least one testing category.  Overall, the school scored in the 78th percentile, an achievement that we are happy to report.

Main Street CEC is a loving, welcoming environment for children to grow up in and learn not only the skills needed to make them successful in the their adult lives, but in their spiritual lives as well.  We continue to succeed because of the support received from each family attending.  Please be in prayer for a continued success of the CEC, the families and for each student to become stronger in their walk with Christ.
